The Mounds View Vision A Thriving Desirable Community RESOLUTION 9250 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL FOR THE EXTERIOR BUILDING REPAIRS AT WELLS 5 AND 6 AND AWARD THE CONTRACT TO WESTERN SPECIALTY CONTRACTORS WHEREAS, the City Council in June of 2018 (Res. 9230) approved Inspec completing the specifications for the masonry building repairs at WTP 2/Well 5 and WTP 3/Well 6 and send out to bid; and WHEREAS, On February 27, 2020 Public Works received three proposals for completing this work as follows: • Western Specialty Contractors: base bid of $109.500.00 • Cities Masonry Restoration: base bid of $114,170.00 • Innovative Masonry Restoration Inc. base bid of $196,000.00 WHEREAS, Inspec has reviewed the bids and the lowest responsible bid was received from Western Specialty Contractors of Minneapolis MN; and WHEREAS, The City has reviewed the standard A101 contract that will be used for this project; and WHEREAS, Public Works Staff along with Inspec recommends the City Council approve the proposal from Western Specialty Contractors for the masonry repairs at WTP 2/ Well 5 and WTP 3 / Well 6. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. Accepts the Proposal from Western Specialty Contractors with a base bid of $109,500.00 for the masonry repairs at WTP 2/Well 5 and WTP 3/ Well 6. 2. City Council approves a 7% contingency of $7,665.00 for any unforeseen issues that may arise during this project. 3. The Director of Public Works is authorized to make approvals related to contract modifications during construction of the Project on behalf of the City Council. 4. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this resolution.
