Mounds View City Council February 24, 2020 <br />Regular Meeting Page 8 <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn commented Ghana Fest would be held on Saturday, March 7th at the 1 <br />Mounds View Community Center. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Council Member Gunn encouraged the public to consider nominating a deserving Mounds View 4 <br />resident for Citizen of the Year. She indicated this award would be presented at the Town Hall 5 <br />meeting on Monday, April 20th. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated he was proud to be a resident of Mounds View after 8 <br />attending the NYFS Service to Youth Awards event last Thursday. He commended Police Chief 9 <br />Harder for his efforts on behalf of the community. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Council Member Meehlhause reported he would be attending an NYFS Board meeting on 12 <br />Thursday, February 27th. He updated the Council on the hiring process that was being followed 13 <br />to hire a new Executive Director for NYFS. He reported interviews were held with the top five 14 <br />candidates last week and the top three would be brought back in for a second interview on 15 <br />Monday, March 2nd. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Mayor Mueller invited all to attend the Ghana Fest on Saturday, March 7th at the Community 18 <br />Center. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Mayor Mueller reported the Mounds View Business Council would be meeting on Wednesday, 21 <br />March 4th at the Community Center. 22 <br /> 23 <br />Mayor Mueller stated the Festival in the Park Committee would be meeting next on Tuesday, 24 <br />March 17th at the Community Center at 7:00 p.m. She explained this group still needed 25 <br />volunteers to assist with planning the 2020 Festival. 26 <br /> 27 <br /> B. Reports of Staff. 28 <br /> 29 <br />City Administrator Zikmund stated staff continues to review the H2OPP program and was 30 <br />recommending at this time that the administrative fee be reduced to $150. Staff requested the 31 <br />Council make a motion to amend this fee. He asked if the Council supported refunding the 32 <br />residents that have already paid the higher fee for this program. The Council supported 33 <br />refunding these fees. 34 <br /> 35 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Direct Staff to Reduce the H2OPP Program Fee 36 <br />from $250 to $150 and directing staff to refund the residents that paid the higher fee. 37 <br /> 38 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 39 <br /> 40 <br />City Administrator Zikmund reviewed the items the Council would be addressing at the March 41 <br />worksession meeting. 42 <br /> 43 <br />C.
