c. Ball field improvements. <br /> *Groveland: Looking at adding new fabric at wings and backstop, along with horizontal cross bracing to <br /> prevent curling up. Also add overhang to top of backstop. Improve field grading to 60-feet with base pegs. <br /> Bring in gravel to shorten infield and adjust field for drainage. Improve irrigation in field and around <br /> building. <br /> Do not know if we can add to the existing fencing, or if we need to replace the entire backstop. <br /> <br /> Silver View: Need new fabric and cross bracing for a few sections of backstop. Add 8-foot fencing <br /> between bench fencing and backstop fencing. Angle from 6-foot toward backstop ending about 2 feet on <br /> field side of backstop. <br /> <br /> Lambert Park: Add overhang to backstop. Add 8-foot fencing to the bench fencing on third base line <br /> toward backstop. Add 8-foot swing gate to bench fencing at first base line. Chain it to existing 6-foot <br /> fence for summer season, then swing it open and chain to backstop in winter for rink flooding. <br /> <br /> Direct Staff to find cost estimates for July meeting. Work could be done in August. <br /> <br /> d. Park Maintenance documentation. How do we want to document when upgrades have been made to <br /> equipment, buildings, fields, etc? Direct Staff to pull together big items (building, playgrounds, parking <br /> lots, tennis courts, etc) from history, including cost and contractors if available. Plan to keep running <br /> record per park in conjunction with PIP by December each year. <br /> <br />6. New Business: <br /> a. Parking lot lights at Silver View Park. Xcel Energy should be putting a proposal together. $2,064 <br /> power run (one-time cost), $52 for 4 lights and $14 for 2 poles ($66 per month). Where does money to <br /> pay the park lighting costs come from? Direct Staff to find how this gets budgeted for July meeting. <br /> <br />7. Commissioner/Staff Reports: <br /> *Greenfield benches need new paint—scheduled for replacement. <br /> *Can we get stop lines at crosswalks with roads that intersect with County 10 trailway? <br /> *Discussion of moving pitching rubbers at Silverview park to help IBL vs. softball. Arel looking into <br />movable pitching rubbers and will have an off-season discussion with IBL. Softball cannot move from 50 <br />to 52-feet. <br /> *Parks are being well used. Can we disconnect telephone service to park buildings? Yes. <br /> *North trailway of County 10 bid opening July 23, work can begin a few weeks later. <br /> <br />8. Request for future agenda items/other business <br />Possible Items for the July 23rd Agenda. <br /> Discuss annual meeting with City Council. <br /> <br />9. Motion to adjourn at 8:40 P.M. by Kunz, 2nd by Long. Motion Passed 7-0
