1/1 M E M O R A N D U M TO: PARKS AND RECREATION AND FORESTRY COMMISSION FROM: NICK DEBAR | PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: OCTOBER 22, 2009 RE: UPCOMING COMMISSION VACANCIES Terms of two members of the current Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission are set to expire at the end of this year. The current status of Commission memberships are as follows: Committee Member Term Expiration John Kroeger 12-31-2009 Darren Peterson 12-31-2009 Jerry Kunz 12-31-2010 Cindy Palm 12-31-2010 Gerald Arel 12-31-2011 Dale Aukee 12-31-2011 Dave Long 12-31-2011 The City is currently soliciting applications from residents interested in serving on the Commission. The application deadline is October 30, 2009. Commission members whose terms expire this year who wish to continue to serve on the Commission are required to complete and submit an application by this deadline. The Commission will review submitted applications at their November 19, 2009 meeting. It is anticipated that appointment recommendations for vacant Commission memberships and a Chair for 2010 will be made from the pool of applicants during this meeting. The recommendations will be forwarded to the City Council for consideration. The City Council is anticipated to make appointments at their December 14, 2009 regular meeting.
