09-23-2010 <br />PARKS AND RECREATION AND FORESTRY COMMISSION <br />6:30 P.M. | JULY 22, 2010 | MOUNDS VIEW CITY HALL <br />MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER at 6:37 PM <br />2. ROLL CALL: Long, Aukee, Kroeger, Peterson, Palm | Staff: Dazenski, DeBar <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to approve by Kroeger, 2nd by Long. <br />Motion Passed 4-0 <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />A. June 24, 2010 Meeting Minutes: Motion to approve by Kroeger, 2nd by Peterson. <br />Motion Passed 4-0 <br />5. PUBLIC INPUT <br />Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full name <br />and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. Dale Tchumperlund – Silver Lake <br />Woods Townhouse Association President – commented on getting 15 softballs in one <br />evening. City has placed pine trees, but occasionally they deal with some damage to siding <br />and a window. Wanted to make commission aware and discuss options. <br />6. YMCA UPDATE <br />A. Program Updates: <br />Summer programs wrapping up and camps are going well. <br />B. 2010 Music-in-the-Park Update: Good turnout last Thursday. Approximately 85 people <br />attended from all age ranges. Also got good video and that footage will play in the near <br />future. Next Concert is August 19th <br />C. Kirk is leaving and will need to fill the Senior Manager position that he is vacating. <br />7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Discuss Lambert Park Facilities Layout / On-Street Parking <br />1. Items Discussed: <br /> New building location in existing parking lot <br /> Pavilion in the location of the existing building <br /> Possibly put diagonal parking along south side of Lambert Ave. <br /> Potential of putting in a basketball/volleyball/tennis court where the existing swing sets are <br /> Shift fence line of ball field inside (southeast) to shorten infield. Have to move fencing; <br /> Keep full hockey rink and playground outline <br />2. Directed staff to provide to scale drawings to further analyze placement of building and <br />amenities <br />Requested to attend Street Committee August 16th meeting if Lambert Ave. parking <br />will be discussed. <br />8. NEW BUSINESS
