PARKS AND RECREATION AND FORESTRY COMMISSION <br />6:30 P.M. | NOVEMBER 18, 2010 | MOUNDS VIEW CITY HALL <br />MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER at 6:31 PM <br />2. ROLL CALL: Kunz, Palm, Kroeger, Arel, Long, Aukee, Peterson | Staff: DeBar <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to approve by Aukee, 2nd by Long. <br />Motion Passed 7-0 <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />A. October 28, 2010 Meeting Minutes: Motion to approve by Kunz, 2nd by Palm. Motion <br />Passed 7-0 <br />5. PUBLIC INPUT <br />Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full name <br />and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. No residents in attendance. <br />6. YMCA UPDATE <br />A. Program Updates: <br />Mounds View Matters is now available and participants can sign up for winter <br />events/classes <br />Cookies with Santa is Dec. 11th at the MVCC <br />Registration for next session of swimming is open, residents are encouraged to sign up now <br />for classes <br />Pat Prindle will be leaving the MVCC effective 11/19. The commission wishes Pat well in <br />his future endeavors <br /> Park and facility rentals will go through matt Baumann at 763-717-4041 <br /> All other questions should be directed to Ashley Burke 763-717-4042 <br />7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Discuss Lambert Park Facilities Layout / On-Street Parking <br />1. Street & Utilities Committee met on 11/15 and made the following recommendations: <br /> Construct 60 degree parking with 19+1 stalls <br /> Consider mirroring the 60 degree parking and have “back-in” only parking <br /> Use park funds to pay for the construction – estimated to be $10,000 <br />2. Motion by Kroeger, second by Arel to make the following recommendation to the City <br />Council: <br />1. Recommend construction of 60 degree angled parking with 19+ 1 stalls <br />2. Recommend excluding any provision that directs a way in which vehicles <br />are parked, parking to be striped as shown in the attached Exhibit <br />3. Recommend the funds to pay for the construction be included with the on- <br />going streets program <br />Motion passed 7-0
