ROLL CALL: Commissioners: Kunz, Palm, Kroeger, Aukee, Peterson, Arel <br /> Staff: DeBar | YMCA: Danielson <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion by Palm to approve, 2nd by Peterson. Motion Passed 6-0 <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />A. February 23, 2012 Meeting Minutes: Motion by Peterson to approve, 2nd by Kunz. Motion <br />Passed 6-0. <br />5. PUBLIC INPUT <br />Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full <br />name and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. No residents present. <br />6. YMCA REPORT <br />A. Appoint Coach of the Year: New Programs for arts, sports and fitness. All classes except <br />Tabata are full. Summer soccer, softball, and t-ball registration open until April 27th. In need <br />of volunteer coaches. Summer park program almost full. Spring session #2 will include arts, <br />lacrosse, and gym games. <br />April 14th Spring Fling: Free sample classes, healthy cooking demonstrations, summer <br />program discounts. <br />Event Center: Summer Saturdays full. Filling Fridays and Sundays. <br />Coach of the Year: Two nominations received. Motion by Palm, 2nd by Peterson to award <br />candidate #2, Motion Passed 5-1. <br />Palm will contact the family of Pat Holmes to present the award. Danielson will contact the <br />recipient to present the award at the Town Hall Meeting on April 16th at 6:00 PM. <br />7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Discuss Trailway and Sidewalk System Plan: Updated draft from 1992. Identified gaps and <br />presented plans to rectify. Suggest bring to Planning Commission. Suggest Commission <br />reiews draft and submit suggested changes to Kroeger. Suggest DeBar, Kroeger, and <br />Peterson tour proposed trail ways and bring final suggestions to the Commission. <br />Commission would then propose recommendations to coordinate with completed and <br />upcoming street projects. <br />8. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. Review Proposed Changes to Chapter 605 – Tree Disease (and Pest) Control: <br />Recommendations by Rick Wriskey to add the term “pests” and address possible issues <br />with Emerald Ash Borer as a nuisance (605.03 Subd. 1e) and plans for abatement of trees <br />(603.04 Subd. 1), and treatment (605.06) of trees. Other minor wording changes. <br />Need to address 605.04 Subd. 3a with regard to cost to homeowner for removal. Perhaps <br />change wording to show that a homeowner would pay “up to 50%.” Discuss at meeting with <br />City Council. <br />Need to change 605.07: Permit Requirements for Transporting Wood.
