ROLL CALL: Commissioners: Kunz, Kroeger, Aukee, Peterson, Arel, Long <br /> Staff: Dazenski, Debar | YMCA: Danielson <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Agenda amended to move city staff reports to follow the YMCA <br />report (#6) Motion by Arel to approve amended agenda, 2nd by Peterson. Motion Passed 6-0 <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />A. April 26, 2012 Meeting Minutes. Motion by Kroeger to approve, 2nd by Kunz. Motion Passed <br />6-0 <br />5. PUBLIC INPUT <br />Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full <br />name and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. No residents present. <br />6. STAFF REPORTS <br />A. YMCA REPORT <br />Approximately 150 people attended the recent dance recital. Spring session is wrapping up <br />and summer session will start in 2 weeks. Enrollment is strong for the summer session. <br />Added some summer parent/child offerings for the summer. Summer parks program will <br />have approximately 70 participants. There are some programs aimed at older residents - <br />details on those events can be found in the Mounds View Matters. <br />Registration for summer fun run as part of the Festival in the Park is now open. Music-in- <br />the-Park ready to go for June (North Suburban Band), July (Ken Lehm and Friends), and <br />August (Teddy Bear Band). Summer hours starting May 29th. Event center bookings are <br />strong. Park building bookings are strong for most Friday, Saturday and Sundays. <br />Soccer camp is August 6th – 10th. Safety Camp is scheduled for August 15th and 16th. <br />Details for both are in the Mounds View Matters. <br />B. CITY STAFF REPORT <br />Punch list for Lambert building to finish up items. Irrigation and field work will begin shortly <br />on the ballfied for Lambert. The aerator will go in at Silverview Park within the next 3 – 4 <br />weeks. Roofing is progressing well at the community center. Goal number 2 was stolen <br />from the disc golf course. Various parts of parks were again vandalized. Timbers will be <br />removed from Groveland volleyball court within the next few weeks. Ash tree treatments <br />have begun. City staff has been busy with maintenance and getting the fields ready for <br />summer use. There is a reminder in the Mounds View Matters regarding the adopt-a-park <br />program. <br />The ordinance related to city trees passed the City Council and will go into effect next week. <br />Changes to note include the ability for residents to inject trees and the DNR grant. <br />7.
