ROLL CALL: Commissioners: Arel, Aukee*, Katovich, Kunz, Kroeger, Palm, Long <br /> Staff: DeBar*, Peterson | YMCA: Danielson *to be absent <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to approve by Palm, 2nd by Kunz. Motion Passed 6-0 <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Motion to approve by Long, 2nd by Arel. Motion Passed 6-0 <br />A. March 27, 2014 Meeting <br />5. PUBLIC INPUT <br />Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full <br />name and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. No residents present. <br />6. STAFF REPORTS <br />A. YMCA: See staff report. Healthy Family Celebration April 26, 10-12 noon. Pickleball <br />Tournament Saturday, May 17th, 9-5. Registration deadline May 9. Discussion of misuse of <br />fields. Direct Staff to get signs to post, and flyers for Commissioners to hand out. <br />B. Public Works: Staff still working on binders with park information for each Commissioner. <br />Will look at trees at Silverview in the next couple of weeks to decide which should be <br />removed. Siding on west side of Silverview will be finished soon, as well as replacement of <br />picnic tables. Replaced homeplate at City Hall field. New trash and recycling cans to be at <br />all parks. Tree dedication for Steve Dazenski at Silverview Park 11:30am on April 25th. <br />7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Review Park and Recreation Facilities Improvement Plan. No changes or questions from <br />last month. <br />8. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. Discuss Groveland Park Improvements: Playground in good condition. Posts could be <br />reused if we wanted to put in some new equipment. Cannot move tennis courts north as it <br />would impact the baseball field. Could rotate court east/west if a single court, but then <br />would deal with sun. Look at parking on Arden. How many parking spots could we put in? <br />What would parking look like? Sidewalk will be on the north side of Ardan Ave. Move <br />volleyball court to area between building and tennis courts. What to do with the trees? <br />Remove and replace slowly over the next 5-10 years. Curb playground area with path from <br />building to playground, and change out sand to woodchips. Consider replacing tot lot, <br />adding bike rack. Irrigation? <br />9. COMMISSIONER REPORTS <br />A. Swing Dance- Saturday, May 3 at Mermaid Event Center. Lessons at 7:00, Dance at <br />8:00. Featuring Southside Big Band. Tickets $18 per couple, $10 adults, $7 student <br />B. Silverview playground is being well used! <br />C. Music-in-the-Park will be at SILVERVIEW Park this summer
