John made a motion to recommend BBC contribution be directed towards Groveland Park, <br />specifically 1. Toddler Swing $2500, 2. New Player Benches $1400, 3. Picnic Tables $3600, 4. <br />Bench by Playground $1200. Motion second by Arel, Passed. <br /> <br />Additional comments were received from Councilman Gary Meehlhause. Gary told us about the <br />Gateway City Association, the have 1 employee who’s responsibility is to promote the northern <br />suburban cities. At the meeting, held at the community center, that employee gave them some <br />suggestion for additional uses of the community center, specifically to promote it as a site for <br />corporate off site meetings, as most events are currently weekend type events, and weekday <br />usage is low. <br /> <br />9. COMMISSIONER REPORTS: Rice Creek Watershed will re-profile Ditch 5. <br />Forestry Update: Received an extension till the end of year on the grant from DNR. The Lead <br />Park Maintenance has a received some tree training and they are reviewing the employment of <br />a consultant. Dale noted the instance of oak wilt was low, and it was noted that there have been <br />no confirmed emerald ash borer infestations. <br /> <br />10. REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS / OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Review Fee Schedule for 2015 <br /> <br />2. Sherri Gunn – City council attended League of Minn Cities in St. Cloud. She suggested we <br />look at adding a Splash Pad Water Park for active free play. Benefits are low maintenance <br />costs, Accessibility, Durability, Long lasting, Draw in people, Gathering point , No Staff needed, <br />Installs like a playground, and is Wheel Chair Accessible. Several cities have them. Vortex <br />(manufacture) has a nation purchase program as does Art for Water Play. PRF has the support <br />of the Council and City Administrator. Location is a question, Silver View Park, Community <br />Center or City Hall Park? Suggested dates and hours would be May thru September 10am to <br />8pm. Also she suggested adding a shade and benches, etc. Estimated cost $300,000 to <br />$700,000. The one at Cottage Grove cost $465,000. <br /> <br />3. Disc Golf at Silverview <br /> <br />11.
