ROLL CALL: Commissioners: Arel, Aukee, Katovich, Kunz, Kroeger, <br />Staff: DeBar, Peterson | YMCA: Leah Vandecar <br /> <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion Aukee, Second Kroeger <br /> <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES None yet <br />A. May 22, 2014 Meeting <br /> <br />5. PUBLIC INPUT None <br /> <br />6. STAFF REPORTS <br />A. YMCA Leah Vandecar - See notes, Silver Sneakers going well, August Music in the Park will be the <br />Tyrel and Aaron Show, a County Music act.. <br />B. Public Works: Continue Field Maintenance, Big push to get projects done, adding a seasonal <br />help in the fall. No storm damage but some Graffiti. <br /> <br />7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Discuss Groveland Park Improvements, reviewed list, estimate $45,000 to irrigate, $100,000 <br />to refurbish tennis courts. John thanked Park Staff for their excellent work. The infield of the ball <br />field needs to be shrank. There was some discussion on adding a patio or pavilion to the back <br />of the building. John asked for a time schedule of the park improvements. <br /> <br />8. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />A. Consider Recommendation to Appoint Gary Rundle to Commission <br />Arel, Katovich, and Kroeger agreed they could see no reason he should not be approved. <br />Aukee asked if there was a conflict of interest, Councilman Gary Meehlhause was in attendance <br />and said there was not. The consensus opinion was to recommend Gary Rundle to the council. <br /> <br />B. Recommend Expenditures for Upcoming Bethlehem Baptist Church Disbursement – Aukee <br />had some concern about Community Center advertising and promotion of programs. Comments <br />were received from Councilman Gary Meehlhause about the BBC donation should be spent and <br />that marketing was not a big issue noting everyone gets the Mounds View Matters. <br /> <br />Don Peterson had some comments on Community Center desired improvements and <br />remodeling. They are looking at adding a prep kitchen area for those who would like to bring <br />their own food rather than have a caterer. They are also looking at moving the event <br />coordinator’s office; Redo the fitness center and adding some low impact machines. Also there <br />is an idea to make a room for seniors to congregate, play cards, etc. Don is getting the cost <br />together and Nick is looking into funding. <br />
