Motion Passed 6-0.
Roste present for vote
A. March 31, 2016
5. PUBLIC INPUT
Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full
name and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes.
Council Member Gary Meehlhause: A resident approached him to ask about reserving the full
court at Silverview Park for youth basketball leagues. Encouraged the Commission to consider
rental fees. Also look at needs of court repairs and parking lot issues.
6. STAFF REPORTS
A. YMCA: Brittany Wilson from MVCC: See attached report.
1. Concern about renting soccer field space to adults at Silverview. We need to check into
our past minutes to see what our position is on adults using the field. Do we give youth
priority for reservations and then let it open to whomever?
2. Question about reserving Silverview basketball court: Allow youth small group
basketball through Irondale Basketball to reserve for free 1-2 times per week (fee
schedule allows 1 per week, $5 for additional times), with the understanding we will
revisit in the fall with resident feedback if there are conflicts with others who may want
to share the court.
B. Public Works: See attached report. Consider turning some parkland into prairie land for our
pollinating friends. Could be future agenda item.
7. UNFINISHED BUSINES
A. Groveland Park – 2015 Improvements – (update by staff). Hoping to have sod and seed
installed by end of May.
B. Hillview Hockey Rink – continue discussion of layout, rink light repairs – (No update at this
time). Lighting repairs are completed. Waiting for options for rink.
C.
