PARKS AND RECREATION AND FORESTRY COMMISSION <br />6:30 P.M. | MARCH 28, 2019 | MOUNDS VIEW CITY HALL <br />MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER at 6:32 PM <br />2. ROLL CALL: Commissioners: Arel, Aukee, Curry, Kroeger, Kunz, Palm, Rundle <br /> Staff: Peterson | YMCA: Thomas <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to approve by Kroeger, 2nd by Palm. Motion Passed 5-0 <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Motion to approve by Kroeger, 2nd by Arel. Motion Passed 5-0 <br />A. February, 2019 <br />5. PUBLIC INPUT <br />Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full <br />name and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. No residents present. <br />6. STAFF REPORTS <br />A. YMCA: See attached report. <br />B. Public Works: See attached report. <br />7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS – none <br />8. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. Coach of the Year: Motion by Palm, 2nd by Arel to nominate candidate for 2019 Coach of <br />the Year. Motion Passed 5-0. <br />B. Earth Day: April 22, 2019-looking for service organizations who might want to do something <br />in the city to promote Earth Day. <br />C. Arbor Day: April 26, 2019: Planting a few trees in city parks. <br />D. City Hall Play Ground - 2 New Shelters for splash pad and play ground: Shelters were <br />planned for in the budget for this year, were in the original plan, and will come in under <br />budget. Motion to approve by Kroeger, 2nd by Kunz. Motion Passed 5-0. <br />E. Review Park Improvement Plan – 5 Year CIP-Consider restroom enclosures at all buildings <br />and new park signs in the future. <br />Groveland Park-wait on irrigation system until things are given time to grow after street <br />project and tennis courts. <br />Random Park-consider new playground. <br />City Hall Park-wait for irrigation if we are going to install a Veterans’ Memorial. <br />Lambert Park-will need to repair and/or replace boards on ice rink <br />9. COMMISSIONER REPORTS: KnightKrawler robotics is competing at the U of M, Williams <br />Arena, this weekend Friday and Saturday. FREE! <br />10. REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS / OTHER BUSINESS: Forestry and Trailways <br />11. ADJOURNMENT: Motion to adjourn at 7:34 PM by Kunz, 2nd by Palm. Motion Passed 5-0 <br />Next Regular Commission Meeting: Thursday April 25, 2019 at 6:30 PM
