ROLL CALL: Commissioners: Arel, Aukee, Curry, Kroeger, Kunz, Palm, Rundle <br /> Staff: Peterson | YMCA: Thomas <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to approve by Aukee, 2nd by Palm. Motion passed 5-0 <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />May 23, 2019: Motion to approve by Arel, 2nd by Kunz. Motion Passed 5-0 <br />5. PUBLIC INPUT <br />Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full <br />name and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. No residents present. <br />6. STAFF REPORTS <br />A. YMCA: See attached report. 126 high school students signed up for free summer <br />membership at MVCC through YMCA. Festival in the Park-August 17 8:30 am at Silver <br />View Park. Community Resource Fair Sept. 21. <br />B. Public Works: See attached report. <br />7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Review Park Tours: Reviewed notes from May 23, 2019 minutes. Direct Staff to bring back <br />cost estimates for all park suggestions at Woodcrest, Random, and Greenfield. Adults are <br />playing games on Wisser Field at Greenfield Park. They are reserving the field through <br />MVCC, and it is suitable for adult play. Commission is okay with this practice. <br />8. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. New Picnic Shelters at City Hall Park: Rental Rates for the two larger shelters. 4-hour time <br />block. $40 per block of time. Time blocks are flexible. No difference between resident and <br />non-resident. Make all City Hall shelter rentals $40 per 4-hour time block. Motion by Palm <br />to recommend changes to Fee Schedule as follows: Eliminate $105 for 4-hour rental <br />at City Hall shelter from current Fee Schedule. Change to All City Hall Shelters $40 <br />per 4-hour time block. 2nd by Kunz. Motion Passed 5-0. <br />B. City Hall Park - Veterans Memorial: This was advertised in the Mounds View Matters asking <br />for volunteers to join a committee. No one has responded as of yet. Staff provided some <br />information for Commissioners to look over and give feedback. Staff will recommend to City <br />Council to join with PRF Commission to get started in planning. <br />C. Ardan Park – Dog Park: Possible layout options at Ardan and north of Quincy in east <br />Greenfield Park. Direct Staff to bring back cost estimates for fencing and ask the City <br />Council about their feelings in pursuing a dog park. <br />D. Comprehensive Park Plan: Received “Steps to Complete a Parks and Recreation Master <br />Plan” toolbox from University of Delaware and an old survey. We have done some of the <br />suggestions in the “U of D Toolbox” and those are in our Park Improvement Plan. We need <br />to educate residents on funding sources for keeping parks up-to-date. Palm will begin with <br />gathering data on existing park amenities, add forestry notes from, and recreation
