1 | Page Item No. 7B M E M O R A N D U M To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners From: Don Peterson – Public Works Director Date: January 23, 2020 RE: Public Works Staff Report _______________________________________________________________________________ The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. Maintenance Staff worked on the following items since November: • Finish some leaf mulching • Snow removal • Mount Cameras at Splash Pad • Flooding Rinks • Repairs to Community Center tables • Install new picnic tables at Splash Pad Forestry Staff worked on the following items this last month: • Start Ash Tree Removal • Trimming several boulevard trees • Pruning Park Trees • Chainsaw Training with new Park Employee The following projects are planned this year. Current updates are in black text, and updates from the previous two month period are in grey. Ardan Park • Working with Stantec Engineering on some drainage issues in the Park. Application to perform some storm water pond maintenance was submitted to RCWD. City Hall Campus: Irrigation & Landscaping Improvements: • New Picnic Shelters are being built, will be ready for next season rental. • Worked with plumber and vendor to winterize the splash pad. • Installation of the New Picnic Tables started Groveland Park: Tennis/Basketball Court Rehabilitation (Design): • Final Inspection of Punch list items on 10/25/2018 for Tennis/Basket Ball Court Greenfield Park: RCWD ARJD#1 Project: Rice Creek Watershed District is planning the re-profiling and repair of Anoka-Ramsey Judicial Ditch No. 1 which runs through Greenfield Park. Also included is Branch No. 5 which is located behind the baseball outfield and crosses below the parking lot entrance. Staff will be meeting with RCWSD to inquire the status of this work. • Scheduled meeting with RCWD for Monday July 30th for rain gardens and ARJD#1. • RCWD has sent letters out cleaning of Judicial Ditch No. 1 to start
