-WE NEED YOU -
BE A PARK AND RECREATION BOOSTER!
During the past decade the Rochester Park and Recreation Department has
developed a proud tradition of maintaining and developing community parks and indoor
recreational facilities for the enjoyment of residents in the Rochester area. In
keeping with that tradition, and looking ahead to the future, the Department has
several goals in mind toward development of areas within the Park System, as well as
providing recreational facilities and equipment. In addition, the Department must
continue maintenance and improvements to existing park and recreation facilities.
The Park and Recreation Department is responsible for providing a large
variety of recreation activities as well as to maintain over 2,000 acres of existing
parkland. However, public budgets cannot always cover the financing to maintain or
make improvements to existing or future recreational facilities.
The little extra necessary to make your outdoor and indoor leisure time
activity more enjoyable is sometimes just beyond operational budget boundaries that
the Department has available. You can help meet the needs of our Park System by
becoming a Park and Recreation Department "Booster".
As a "Booster", you are taking advantage of the opportunity to improve the
quality of life now and in the future for area residents. The Park System has been
very fortunate in the past for the many contributions, donations, and public support
our citizens have given us. Without this support the Department would not have the
existing 2,000 acres of land, the new Mayo Civic Center, and all the excellent
recreational facilities and programs available today.
For your convenience a listing of desired items for various neighborhood
parks, and indoor recreational facilities is contained in the catalog for your
consideration.
