T -Ball & Little Sluggers Pro_ am
Program
This is a fun program designed for children who are 5, 6 and 7 years old. T -ball is not
designed to produce great athletes; rather, it opens doors to new experiences by
teaching basic skills and rules, and offers an opportunity to meet and interact with other
children in a low key, recreational setting.
Rosters
Official team rosters have been compiled by the Parks and Recreation Department. Any
change must be approved by the Athletic Supervisor.
Playing Rules
a Bases shall be 45 feet apart (approximately 15 - 17 big walking steps), with 1st
and 3rd bases being measured from home plate down the respective foul lines.
Second base should be aligned accordingly with 1st and 3rd bases.
a Each game shall be three innings or one hour and fifteen minutes long, which
ever comes first. Scheduled game times will be 6:00 pm and 7:15 pm.
No new inning of the first game may start after 7:15 pm. The home
team coach's watch shall be the official time piece. The inning in
progress when time limit concludes may be finished.
a An arc with a 15 foot radius (center point being the front edge of home plate) will
extend from foul line to foul line in front of home plate. In order for a batted ball
to be in play it must travel beyond this 15 foot arc.
a While batting, the only players that should be on the field are the batter and the
on -deck batter. Everyone else should remain seated in the teams batting order.
a One half inning consists of each player batting once regardless of any outs made
by the fielding team. All players present at the game must be included in the
batting order.
a One base is allowed on an over throw, when the play is at first base. On over
throws to all other bases the play is dead and all runners must stop at the base
they safely made. This will help speed up the games.
a Once the ball is brought back into the infield, whether it is kept under control or
not, all base runners must stop their advancement.
a After the last batter has hit, the defensive team signifies the end of the inning by
having the catcher place the ball on the batting "T" or touching Home Plate.
a All players should be placed in the field when their team is on defense. The
outfield should have the extra players, and the infield should have three players
on the right side, three players on the left side, one pitcher and one catcher.
a Positions should be changed each inning. All players should experience playing
all positions. Coaches should rotate players throughout the course of the game
and season.
