PARKS & RECREATION SERVICES The City of Mounds View Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department provides services through three divisions that work together as a team, providing an overall Parks System and Recreational opportunities to the people of Mounds View, Those service divisions include Parks Maintenance and Parks and Improvements, diverse variety of Recreation Programs and activities for tiny tots to senior citizens and Forestry services including planting and beautification and tree disease control. PARKS MAINTENANCE & PARKS IMPROVEMENT SERVICES: Mowing Parks and boulevards Athletic Field grooming and preparation Picnic shelter maintenance and preparation Trail maintenance, repairs and improvements Park building cleaning, repairs and improvements Trash removal City sign message changes Park broadleaf spraying for dandelions and weeds Playground maintenance, repair and inspections Ice Rink maintenance Park snow plowing, path clearing Installation of nets, goals, baskets, bases, etc. for various seasons/sports Winterizing and Spring-izing drinking fountains, restrooms, sprinkling systems Maintaining park security lights and athletic lighting Maintaining park signage Maintaining park landscaping Installing new park amenities Repairing park amenities Removing grafitti and repairing vandalized park equipment Park inspections Equipment and vehicle maintenance and repairs Training and licensing as required Supervising Eagle Scout candidate projects Supervising volunteers such as Adopt a Park volunteers, Community Service volunteers, Community Restitution workers, and youth service groups Train and supervision of seasonal youth in the work of parks maintenance, equipment use & safety. RECREATION ACTTVXTiES/PROGRAyiS: Pre-school programs After-school activities for youth (especially for those that would be unsupervised at home) School Days Out activities (especially for those that would be unsupervised at home)
