Park and Recreation Committee Meeting <br /> June 27, 2002 <br /> Commissioner/Staff Reports <br /> a) Introduction of Water into Spring Lake Update <br /> This was presented to City Council at the April 1, 2002 Work Session <br /> ➢ Council requested that the residents around Spring Lake to form an <br /> official lake association. <br /> ➢ A Joint Powers Agreement will need to be executed between the three <br /> surrounding Cities (Mounds View, Spring Lake Park, and Fridley) and <br /> Board of Water Commissioners of the City of St. Paul. <br /> ➢ The City is waiting to receive a draft copy of the Joint Powers Agreement. <br /> Upon receipt it will be placed on the next Council meeting agenda. <br /> b) County Road 10 Reconstruction and Revitalization Plan <br /> A Public Information Meeting was held April 24, 2002 <br /> ➢ This plan includes landscaping and pathway corridors on both the north <br /> and south sides. <br /> ➢ Staff is looking for input regarding this plan and recommends that the Park <br /> and Recreation Commission review it and provide comments. <br /> ➢ A second Public Information Meeting will be held June 17, 2002 at 6:00 <br /> p.m. at the Community Center. <br /> ➢ This item needs to be added to the June 27th Parks and Recreation meeting <br /> agenda. <br /> c) Skate Park Seminar Update <br /> ➢ The Public Works Director and Parks Forman attended a Skate Park <br /> Seminar on March 20, 2002. <br /> ➢ It was put on by a vendor so it had a sales pitch, however, it was very <br /> informative. <br /> ➢ Modular System: move and rearrange <br /> ➢ Involve the users in the planning process (fosters pride and ownership) <br />
