Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission Meeting Agenda
January 24, 2008
6:30 P.M.
GREENFIELD PARK PUBLIC MEETING
LONG TERM PLANS FOR CURRENT PARKLAND AND TRAILWAY
NOTE: The Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commissioners will be conducting a public meeting to
discuss the long term plan for the parkland area and existing trailway located north of Oakwood Park and
east / northeast of Greenfield Park. The Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission meeting will follow
this public meeting.
1. Roll Call
2. Approval of minutes from the December 20, 2007 meeting.
3. Public Input - Citizens are encouraged to speak to the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commissioners
on issues of concern.
4. YMCA Update - Skating Rink Update...
5. Unfinished Business:
a.) Greenfield Park Pubic Meeting Notice — Notices for this meeting were published in the Bulletin and
Sun Focus, posted at City Hall and on the City's web site, included on Cable TV notice scroll, mailed
directly to nearby properties (same area as disc golf notice), and added to the City`s electronic message
board. Given the amount of public participation and discussions at the January 24"' meeting, does the
Commission wish to continue public input and discussions on this item? If so, public notice can be
added to the next edition of the Mounds View Matters which is scheduled for delivery for March I" and
another pubic meeting scheduled for the March 27`h Park and Recreation Meeting. In an effort to obtain
public input, "Feedback" forms were made available at the Greenfield Park meeting. The deadline for
submitting these forns is February 22"d. These forms will be reviewed be the Park and Recreation
Commission at their February 28"' meeting.
Also, based on discussions from the January 20 meeting, if there is addition information the
Commission would like on any of the possible options, Staff could obtain this data and have it available
at the March 27"' meeting.
