Past recipients of this award include: <br /> <br />2004 David Jahnke 2012 Greg Belting <br />2005 Frank Silvis 2013 Gary Stevenson <br />2006 Ed Lanz 2014 Theresa Cermak <br />2007 Don Hodges 2015 Gordy Fedor and Paul Fedor <br />2008 Barbara Haake 2016 Virgil Beyer <br />2009 Diane Wuori 2017 Betty Wahl <br />2010 Jean Miller 2018 Penny Howard <br />2011 Jerry Skelly <br /> Discussion: <br />The City of Mounds View Citizen of the Year Award recognizes ordinary citizens who have <br />demonstrated initiative to improving the community, whose service or performance exemplifies <br />the spirit of giving back and who inspire others in their volunteer efforts. <br /> <br />The nominations were reviewed by the City Council at the May Work Session. The City Council <br />made a decision to designate the 2019 Mounds View Citizen of the Year Award to Amy Hodges. <br /> <br />The Mounds View Citizen of the Year Award is usually scheduled at the City’s annual Town Hall <br />Meeting. However, due to the Governor’s Shelter in Place Order, the City Council will be <br />delivering the award to Mrs. Hodges at a future date. <br /> Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: <br />Increase community engagement.
