The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirable Community <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Item No: 5.C. <br />Meeting Date: May 11, 2020 <br />Type of Business: Consent Agenda <br />Administrator Review ______ <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resources Coordinator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9265, Approving Revisions to the Personnel Manual <br /> Introduction: <br />The League of Minnesota Cities conducted a review of the City’s Personnel Manual. <br />Kennedy & Graven completed an extensive review of the City’s Personnel Manual and <br />submitted their recommendations for staff consideration. Staff has completed their review <br />and is prepared to present the revised Personnel Manual to Council for approval. <br /> Discussion: <br />The most notable change to the revised Personnel Manual is the layout of the document. <br />The new format allows a consistent flow of information: <br /> <br />• Section One – Employment in General <br />• Section Two – Compensation and Benefits <br />• Section Three – Workplace Issues <br />• Section Four – Attendance and Leaves <br />• Section Five – Separations <br />• Section Six – Discipline and Grievance Procedures <br /> All policies approved by the City Council pertaining to staff have been incorporated into <br />the Personnel Manual. <br /> Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: <br />This addresses the City Council goal to implement HR policies to recruit and retain staff. <br /> Financial Impact: <br />None. <br /> Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends approval of Resolution 9265, Approving Revisions to the Personnel <br />Manual. <br /> _________________________ <br />Rayla Sue Ewald <br />Human Resources Coordinator
