Mounds View City Council May 11, 2020 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br />1 Wattenhofer to the position of Arborist/Mark Maintenance. She reported the City received five <br />2 applications for this position and five interviews were held with candidates. She explained Mr. <br />3 Wattenhofer was a stellar candidate and has worked for the Public Works Department previously <br />4 as a seasonal employee. Further discussion ensued regarding Mr. Wattenhofer's work background <br />5 and staff recommended approval of the hire. <br />6 <br />7 Public Works Director Peterson stated he was very excited to have Mr. Wattenhofer back on <br />8 staff, noting Mr. Wattenhofer had a high level of knowledge and expertise that would be valuable <br />9 to the City of Mounds View. <br />10 <br />11 MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Bergeron. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution <br />12 9270, Approving the Hire of Daniel Wattenhofer to the Arborist/Park Maintenance Position. <br />13 <br />14 Council Member Meehlhause thanked staff for the thorough presentation on this hire and stated <br />15 Mr. Wattenhofer would be a great addition to the City. <br />16 <br />17 A roll call vote was taken. <br />18 <br />19 Ayes — 5 Nays 0 Motion carried. <br />20 <br />21 E. Resolution 9272, Approving Change Orders 1 & 2, Exterior Building Repairs <br />22 Wells 5 & 6. <br />23 <br />24 Public Works Director Peterson requested the Council approve Changer Orders 1 and 2 along <br />25 with exterior building repairs to Wells 5 and 6. He discussed the work that was being completed <br />26 on Wells 5 and 6 and noted the change orders would cover the expense of unanticipated repairs. <br />27 He noted the water budget would cover the overages. <br />28 <br />29 MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9272, <br />30 Approving C/O 1 & 2, Exterior Building Repairs Wells 5 & 6. <br />31 <br />32 A roll call vote was taken. <br />33 <br />34 Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />35 <br />36 F. Resolution 9273, Approving Change Order 3 Water Treatment Plant. <br />37 <br />38 Public Works Director Peterson requested the Council approve Change Order 3 for the work <br />39 being done at the Water Treatment Plant. He described the work being done at the water <br />40 treatment plant and noted a motor had to be improved. <br />41 <br />42 Council Member Meehlhause questioned how the project was coming along. Public Works <br />43 Director Peterson provided the Council with an update on the progress being made at the Water <br />44 Treatment Plant. He reported the project has remained on schedule despite COVID-19 and pump <br />45 testing would be held this fall. <br />
