Mounds View City Council May 26, 2020 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br />7. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS <br />A. Proclamation: High School Senior Recognition Day. <br />Mayor Mueller read a proclamation in full for the record declaring June 1, 2020 to be High School <br />Senior Recognition Day in the City of Mounds View. <br />8. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />A. Resolution 9275, Approving Certain Employee and Volunteer Appreciation <br />Events. <br />Human Resources Coordinator Ewald requested the Council approve a Resolution approving <br />certain employee and volunteer appreciation events. She explained in 2001 the City approved <br />Resolution 5617 which allowed certain employee and volunteer appreciation events and in 2005 <br />the City revised the original Resolution in order to hold employee and volunteer events at the <br />City's event center or City parks. She reported due to Coronavirus the 2020 employee appreciation <br />luncheon has been canceled. She noted at the May worksession the Council suggested splitting <br />the amount budgeted for the event amongst staff in the form of restaurant gift cards. She explained <br />staff consulted with Kennedy & Graven and a Resolution was drafted for Council approval. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9275, <br />Approving Certain Employee and Volunteer Appreciation Events. <br />A roll call vote was taken. <br />Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />B. Resolution 9276, In Support of Protecting the Community Television Act. <br />City Administrator Zikmund requested the Council approve a Resolution in support of protecting <br />the Community Television Act. He explained this Resolution was provided to the City from Dana <br />Healy at CTV as part of the ongoing battle with the FTC. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9276, In Support <br />of Protecting the Community Television Act. <br />Council Member Bergeron stated he fully supported the Resolution and commented on how unfair <br />the FTC was being in trying to change the rules for multi -media conglomerates. <br />A roll call vote was taken. <br />Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />C. Resolution 9277, Approving the Amended Contract with Paul Bunyan <br />Plumbing. <br />Public Works Director Peterson requested the Council approve the amended contract with Paul <br />
