Item 08A <br />Page 2 of 9 <br /> <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />N/A <br /> <br /> <br />Summary <br />The applicant proposes to tear down their home and detached garage, and build a new home <br />with an attached garage, requiring a CUP for an oversized garage. <br /> <br />A Public Hearing notice was published by the Shoreview Press on March 31, 2020, and mailed <br />to property owners within 350’ of the subject property. <br /> <br /> <br />Planning Commission Recommendation <br />The Planning Commission recommended approval of the CUP (Resolution 1118-20), and <br />approved a Variance to reduce the front yard setback for the garage, from 30’ to 26’ (Resolution <br />1117-20), on April 15, 2020. <br /> <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff recommends approval of the Conditional Use Permit. <br /> <br />The City Council is requested to consider the following options: <br /> <br />1. Approve Resolution 9257. <br /> <br />2. Deny the Resolution, with Findings. <br /> <br />3. Table the request. If additional information is needed before a decision can be rendered or <br />if more discussion is needed, the Council can table the request until such information has <br />been provided.
