Proclamation: High School Senior Recognition Day. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Mayor Mueller read a proclamation in full for the record declaring June 1, 2020 to be High 4 <br />School Senior Recognition Day in the City of Mounds View. 5 <br /> 6 <br />8. COUNCIL BUSINESS 7 <br />A. Resolution 9275, Approving Certain Employee and Volunteer Appreciation 8 <br />Events. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Human Resources Coordinator Ewald requested the Council approve a Resolution approving 11 <br />certain employee and volunteer appreciation events. She explained in 2001 the City approved 12 <br />Resolution 5617 which allowed certain employee and volunteer appreciation events and in 2005 13 <br />the City revised the original Resolution in order to hold employee and volunteer events at the 14 <br />City’s event center or City parks. She reported due to Coronavirus the 2020 employee 15 <br />appreciation luncheon has been canceled. She noted at the May worksession the Council 16 <br />suggested splitting the amount budgeted for the event amongst staff in the form of restaurant gift 17 <br />cards. She explained staff consulted with Kennedy & Graven and a Resolution was drafted for 18 <br />Council approval. 19 <br /> 20 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9275, 21 <br />Approving Certain Employee and Volunteer Appreciation Events. 22 <br /> 23 <br />A roll call vote was taken. 24 <br /> 25 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 26 <br /> 27 <br />B. Resolution 9276, In Support of Protecting the Community Television Act. 28 <br /> 29 <br />City Administ rator Zikmund requested the Council approve a Resolution in support of protecting 30 <br />the Community Television Act. He explained this Resolution was provided to the City from Dana 31 <br />Healy at CTV as part of the ongoing battle with the FTC. 32 <br /> 33 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9276, In 34 <br />Support of Protecting the Community Television Act . 35 <br /> 36 <br />Council Member Bergeron stated he fully supported the Resolution and commented on how 37 <br />unfair the FTC was being in trying to change the rules for multi-media conglomerates. 38 <br /> 39 <br />A roll call vote was taken. 40 <br /> 41 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 42 <br /> 43 <br />C. Resolution 9277, Approving the Amended Contract with Paul Bunyan 44 <br />Plumbing. 45
