Jon Sevald <br />City of Mounds View <br />2466 Bronson Dr <br />Mounds View, MN 55112 <br /> <br />RE: Request to maintain two curb cuts <br /> <br />Dear Mayor Carol Mueller, Mr Sevald and members of the City Council. <br /> <br />As the homeowner of 5307 Quincy Street in Mounds View, I am requesting a variance of <br />restriction to maintain the two curb cuts on my property pursuant to being a pre-existing <br />nonconformity. The original driveway was put in place at the construction of my house in 1970. <br />The original attached garage was converted to living space in 1989 and the detached garage <br />and second curbcut on the opposite end of my property was constructed in 1991. Both <br />driveways have remained in continuous use to the present. Since the City Code, <br />Section1121.09, Subd 5(e) was enacted on January 10, 2000, the two curb cuts should be <br />grandfathered in pursuant to MN Statute 462.357 Subd 1(e). <br /> <br />The two curb cuts are at the edges of my property and have a 79 foot distance between them <br />and therefore do not pose a threat to public safety. <br /> <br />I respectfully request to be able to maintain the two curb cuts on my property. <br /> <br />Sincerely, <br /> <br />Tanya Battista <br />5307 Quincy St <br />Mounds View, MN 55112 <br /> <br />
