MJJt_TtTECH* CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />OFFICE OF THE MAYOR <br />PROCLAMATION <br />Multi -Tech Day — August 12, 2020 <br />Celebrating 50 Years of Innovation 1970-2020 <br />WHEREAS, in 1970 Dr. Raghu Sharma, an immigrant of India and a graduate of the University <br />of Minnesota, founded and incorporated Multi -Tech Systems in the basement of the Schneider's Drug <br />Building in Minneapolis; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1978 Multi -Tech Systems outgrew their Minneapolis facility and moved to New <br />Brighton, Minnesota; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1980 Multi -Tech outgrew their New Brighton facility and moved to the City of <br />Mounds View where their world headquarters is still located today with offices expanding to several other <br />locations around the world; and <br />WHEREAS, from Multi-Tech's earliest analog systems, to the cellular heart of today's <br />Internet of Things, to the latest low-power wireless technology and beyond, Multi -Tech has <br />consistently connected businesses in ways previously unimaginable — and has been doing so for <br />50 years; and <br />WHEREAS, the Internet of Things is creating new customer experiences and unparalleled <br />economic value, while improving quality of life for countless people around the globe; and <br />WHEREAS, by providing products and services to connect "things" to the Internet, Multi -Tech <br />delivers deeper understanding to businesses, governments, organizations and individuals, which in turn <br />transforms the way we live and work; and <br />WHEREAS, Multi-Tech's commitment to quality and service excellence is irrefutable while their <br />history of innovation ensures the latest technology to be obtainable; and <br />WHEREAS, over the years, Multi -Tech has been a huge supporter of the community by <br />sponsoring local events, providing significant job opportunities, and donating time and technology where <br />needed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, CAROL A. MUELLER, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF MOUNDS <br />VIEW, do hereby proclaim August 12, 2020 as "Multi -Tech Day" in the City of Mounds View. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the community joins me in acknowledging and <br />congratulating Multi -Tech on their 50 years of innovation and community contributions. <br />Given under my band and seal of the City of Mounds View this 10"' day of August, 2020. <br />Carol A.
