(IRIS) and many other nonprofit organizations work <br />with thousands ofparents all over Mmncsola and across the Unitcd S ,des who have expericnccd <br />the death of child during -pregnancy through early childhood; and <br />Whereas, many of these parents live in, deliver in, have a child dic in, or a bury a child in our <br />community; and <br />Whereas, Infants Remembered In Silence (IRIS) a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization was founded <br />1.987, 33 years ago, to offer support for parents whose child/children died from miscarriage, eclopic <br />pregnancy, molar pregnancy, stillbirth, neonatal death, birth defects, sudden unexplained death of <br />a child (SUDC), sudden infant death syndrome (RDS), illness, accidents, and all other types of <br />infants and early childhood death; and <br />Whereas, bereaved parents around the world remember their children annually on October lo'6 <br />with candle lighting at 7 p.m. Some will remember their child/children in their homes while others <br />will remember them in small gatherings around the stale, across the nation and around the world; <br />and this would unify these parents in tribute to their children; and <br />Whereas, in 1988, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed October as National Pregrnwrcy and hnJant <br />Loss Aww-eness nnonth; and <br />Whereas, in honor o/ the thousands of children dial die each year in Mimlesola, hnla nls <br />Remembered In Silence, Inc. (IRIS) respectlidly requests that October 15, 2020, he recognized as <br />Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carol A.
