RESOLUTION 9312 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING HVAC UPGRADES AND REPLACEMENT AT THE MOUNDS VIEW <br />COMMUNITY CENTER, CITY HALL AND PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY <br />WHEREAS, Public Works Department is responsible for the building maintenance at all <br />City facilities, this includes the heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) of the buildings; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the RTUs where replaced in 2014 and 2015 at the Community Center and in <br />2019 one RTU was replaced at City Hall; and <br />WHERAS, the Public Works RTUs were installed during the construction of the new facility <br />in 2018: and <br />WHEREAS, In 2020 COVID-19 spread across the world and research has indicated that <br />a positional spread of the virus is through a building ventilation system; and <br />WHEREAS, The Center of Disease and Control has recommended looking at ways to <br />control or reduce this potential spread; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff began looking into options to upgrade the HVAC systems in the all City <br />facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff has received a quote from Trane Building Services to replace 5 RTUs <br />at City Hall, install 1 unit with the Genesis Air purifier. Install the Genesis Air purifier to the three <br />RTUs at the Public Works Facility. Replace 1 RTU unit at the Community Center and install the <br />Genesis Purifier on 6 of the other RTUs for a total cost of $396,084.00; and <br />WHEREAS, Funding for the upgrades and replacements would come from the CARES <br />ACT funds. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br />Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. Accepts the proposal from Trane Building Services to replace 5 RTUs at City Hall, <br />install 1 unit with the Genesis Air purifier. Install the Genesis Air purifier to the three <br />RTUs at the Public Works Facility. Replace 1 RTU unit at the Community Center and <br />install the Genesis Purifier on 6 of the other RTUs. <br />2. A total cost of $396,084.00 to be funded from the CARES ACT Fund. <br />3. , The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all <br />appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this resolution. <br />4.
