RESOLUTION NO 9314 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AUTHORIZE RECRUITMENT PROCESS FOR PUBLIC WORKS <br />MAINTENANCE WORKER — STREETS POSITION <br />WHEREAS, a vacancy is opening in the Public Works Maintenance — Street <br />division due to a retirement effective November 30, 2020; and <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Department will have a need to fill this full-time, non- <br />exempt position under the Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit; and <br />WHEREAS, staff would like to start the process of advertising for the Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker - Streets position; and <br />WHEREAS, the current Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit requires that all <br />permanent job vacancies be posted internally for five (5) working days so current <br />members of the bargaining unit can be considered for the vacancy before the job is <br />advertised to the general public; and <br />WHEREAS, only after the vacancy is posted for five (5) working days and no <br />response or qualified candidates are received will the vacancy be posted externally. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council <br />authorizes Staff to advertise for the upcoming vacancy for the Public Works Maintenance <br />Worker — Streets position. <br />ATTEST: <br />Adopted this 12t" day of October, 2020. <br />Carol A.
