RESOLUTION 9324 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A NEW CATERPILLAR WHEEL LOADER 926M WHEREAS, Public Works Staff evaluated the condition of unit #423, a CASE Wheel Loader Backhoe and determined that the unit was in fair to good condition and a minor overhaul was needed to extend the life of this unit; and WHEREAS, Staff received the estimated repairs from the contractor (Titan Machinery) of $100,411.00; and WHEREAS, Public Works Staff met with the Finance Director and reviewed the estimated repair cost and the cost to purchase a new wheel loader; and WHEREAS, Staff determined that the Unit should be replaced and not overhauled; and WHEREAS, Public Works Staff received a quote from Ziegler Cat for a new Wheel Loader for $209,320.00 in addition to a trade in value for unit #423 of $33,200.00. WHEREAS, A 2020 General Fund Budget adjustment is required in account 460- 4470-7030 in order to purchase a new Caterpillar Wheel Loader. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. The Council hereby approves a 2020 General Fund Budget adjustment of $209,320.00 in the Vehicle and Equipment fund account 460-4470-7030. 2. The Council hereby approves the quote from Ziegler CAT of Minneapolis, MN, of $209,320.00 for the purchase of a new Caterpillar Wheel Loader 926M. 3. The Council hereby accepts the trade in value for unit #423 of $33,200 for a final purchase cost of $176,120.00 to be funded out of the Vehicle and Equipment Fund, 460-4470-7030. 4. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this resolution.
