907.06 <br />907.08 (Rev. 4/08) <br />Subd. 4. Future Inspections: At any future time, if the City has reason to suspect that an illegal <br />connection may exist in a premises, the owner, by written notice shall comply with the provisions <br />of Chapter 907.06, Subdivision 3. (Added, Ord. 740, 6-28-04) <br />Subd. 5. Surcharge: A surcharge of seventy five dollars ($75.00) per quarter shall be imposed and <br />added to every sewer billing mailed on and after January 1, 2005 to property owners that are not <br />in compliance with this Section. The surcharge shall be added for the entire quarter until the <br />property is in compliance. (Added, Ord. 740, 6-28-04; Amended, Ord. 803, 4-14-08) <br />Subd. 6. Penalties: Any violation of this Section is a misdemeanor and is subject to penalties <br />provided for such violations under provision of Chapter 702 of this Code. (Added, <br />Ord. 740, 6-28-04; Amended, Ord. 803, 4-14-08) <br />907.07: INDUSTRIAL WASTES:' It shall be unlawful to discharge into the Municipal sanitary <br />sewer system any industrial wastes unless the prior approval of the Building Inspector is obtained. The <br />Building Inspector shall approve the discharge of industrial wastes when, in the Building Inspector's <br />opinion, the proposed wastes will not be of an unusual amount or character. (1988 Code §71.07) <br />907.08: PRELIMINARY TREATMENT FACILITIES: <br />Subd. 1. Discharge Criteria: The admission into the public sewers of any waters or wastes having <br />a) a five (5)-day biochemical oxygen demand greater than three hundred (300) parts per million <br />by weight, or b) containing more than three hundred fifty (350) parts per million by weight of <br />suspended solids, or c) having an average daily flow greater than two percent (2%) of the average <br />daily sewage flow of the Municipality, shall be subject to the review and approval of the Building <br />Inspector. <br />Subd. 2. Provision for Pretreatment: The owner shall provide, at owner's expense, such preliminary <br />treatment as may be necessary to, 1) reduce the Biochemical Oxygen Demand to three <br />hundred (300) parts per million and the suspended solids to three hundred fifty (350) parts per <br />million by weight, or 2) control the quantities and rates of discharge of such waters or wastes. <br />Subd. 3. Approval of Facilities: Plans, specifications and any other pertinent information relating to <br />proposed preliminary treatment facilities shall be submitted for the approval of the Council. <br />No construction of such facilities shall be commenced until proper approvals are obtained in <br />writing. <br />Subd. 4. Maintenance of Facilities: Where preliminary treatment facilities are provided for any <br />waters or wastes, they shall be maintained continuously in satisfactory and effective operation by <br />the owner at owner's expense.
