Mounds View City Council October 12, 2020 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller thanked the HR Committee for reviewing this proposal and negotiating this matter <br />to one-half hour. <br /> <br />A roll call vote was taken. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />D. Resolution 9314, Authorize Recruitment Process for Public Service Worker – <br />Streets Position. <br /> <br />Human Resources Coordinator Ewald requested the Council authorize the recruitment process for <br />a Public Service Worker-Streets Position. She explained long-time Public Works employee Tim <br />Fredberg has submitted his retirement paperwork which will open up a position within the Public <br />Works Department. She noted Mr. Fredberg’s last day with the City will be November 30th. She <br />indicated internal recruiting will begin after Mr. Fredberg leaves the City with backfilling to occur <br />accordingly. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Peterson reported Mr. Fredberg will be dearly missed but wished Mr. <br />Fredberg all the best in his retirement. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause questioned why the City would not begin the hiring process until <br />after Mr. Fredberg retires. Human Resources Coordinator Ewald stated this was for budgetary <br />purposes. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9314, <br />Authorize Recruitment Process for Public Service Worker – Streets Position. <br /> <br />A roll call vote was taken. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />E. Resolution 9315, Approving a Contract with Ramsey County for Election <br />Services. <br /> <br />Human Resources Coordinator Ewald requested the Council approve a contract with Ramsey <br />County for election services. She reported Ramsey County has been handling the City’s elections <br />since 2013. She noted the proposed contract was for six years. The rate increase was discussed in <br />detail with the Council noting the increase would cover the costs for early voting. <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn noted a spelling error within the Resolution. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9315, Approving <br />a Contract with Ramsey County for Election Services. <br /> <br />A roll call vote was taken.
