Exhibit A <br />POSITION DESCRIPTION <br />Position Title: Assistant City Administrator <br />Department: Administration <br />Accountable To: City Administrator <br />Status: Exempt <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION <br />Acting City Administrator in the absence of the City Administrator, responsible for <br />strategic planning/leading the Gallup StrengthsFinder program and other special projects <br />as assigned. Assists the City Administrator with individual employee and team dynamics <br />and employee development, business development and redevelopment activities and the <br />coordination of those activities with quasi -public groups in the community. Performs a <br />variety of routine and complex administrative, technical, and professional work in the <br />preparation and implementation of business development and redevelopment programs <br />and services, and the preparation and dissemination of marketing and communication <br />materials. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general supervision of the City Administrator. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />None. <br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br />• Serves as Interim City Administrator in City Administrators absence. <br />• Represents City/City Administrator in his/her absence at Council or other public <br />meetings. <br />• Represents City/City Administrator at association, organization or similar <br />meetings. <br />• Empowered to act on behalf of City Administrator as provided in statute, code, and <br />City Charter. <br />• Responsible for developing and guiding Strategic Planning for City. <br />• Responsible for developing and leading Gallup StrengthsFinder program and <br />special projects as assigned. <br />• Coordinate the activities of the Economic Development Commission (EDC) and <br />assist with matters of the Economic Development Authority (EDA). <br />• Coordinate business and economic development marketing and promotional <br />activities aimed at attracting new development and investments to Mounds View. <br />• Research City website projects and manage overall website integration. <br />Consistent communication through the website portal. And, oversee all website <br />agreements. <br />• Provide technical and professional advice and support to other staff members, <br />local development corporations, Ramsey County and relevant State agencies. <br />• Develop and maintain a Business Retention Program via regular contact with <br />business owners, property owners, and economic and business development <br />related community organizations. <br />
