Some of the long-term <br />benefits of this construction project is the sound wall, the flow of traffic form the MnPASS lane and <br />the resurfacing of the road which will prolong the life of the road. Motorcyclists can use the MnPASS <br />lane anytime. Transponders can be obtained through the MnPASS website. MnDOT will also be <br />providing more media campaigns to get the word out and MnDOT will have a booth at the Mounds <br />View Town Hall meeting. Commissioner Stevenson reiterated that MnDOT will be updating the <br />Mounds View Boulevard signage off of I-35. Assistant Administrator Beeman asked if the coffee <br />and connections will be held in the Mounds View area. MnDOT will look into it. Commissioner <br />Farmer asked about traffic pattern studies and if people change their patterns long-term even after <br />the construction has ended. MnDOT does do some studies but found that most people go back to <br />the main routes. <br /> <br />Update from Comprehensive Plan Task Force Members <br /> <br />Comprehensive Task Force Member Dennis Farmer provided the Commission an update stating <br />that the Task Force continues to work though the Comprehensive Plan which must be submitted <br />by the end of 2019. He mentioned that staff is still working on the plan and he expects to see a <br />draft in late spring. The Met Council also needs to review the plan. It is expected that a draft plan <br />will be submitted to the EDC for review soon. <br /> <br />7. REPORTS OF STAFF <br /> <br />Crossroad Pointe Redevelopment Project <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator, Beeman provided the Commission with an update on the Crossroad <br />Pointe development stating that the purchase and development agreement has been signed by <br />both parties and the developer has submitted a deposit towards the purchase agreement. Closing <br />is expected to occur around May 1, 2019. Soil borings have been completed. Groundbreaking is <br />still expected to begin the second quarter of 2019 and the construction timeline is 12-14 months. <br /> <br />Rice Creek Commons <br /> <br />Beeman informed the Commission that Ramsey County and the City of Arden Hills is still at a <br />standstill and any construction on the site is questionable for 2019. <br /> <br />North Metro Business Council <br /> <br />The next North Metro Business Council meeting will be held at the Mermaid Event Center June 12, <br />2019 from 7:30-9:00 a.m. The speaker has not been determined. <br /> <br />MWF Developers <br /> <br />Beeman informed the Commission that MWF Properties is back on schedule and framing will begin <br />soon. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2019. <br /> <br />Skyline Motel <br /> <br />Beeman informed the commission that the EDA heard a hotel proposal at their March meeting and <br />they are expecting another hotel proposal to come in soon. The EDA has directed staff that they <br />would like another hotel on the site. Staff sent out RFP’s and May 8, 2019 is the deadline for <br />submitting the RFP’s to the City. All developers will be presenting their proposals May 13, 2019 to <br />the EDA at the same time. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
