NIOUNDI'S' VIEW <br />City of Mounds View Staff R <br />Item No: 8.1. <br />Meeting Date: December 14, 2020 <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />Administrator review: <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resources Coordinator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9366, Authorizing the Hire of Leah Vandecar to Event <br />Manager/Recreation Coordinator <br />Introduction: <br />On October 12, 2020, Council recommended approval of the City operating a Parks and <br />Recreation Department. On November 23, 2020 Council approved the job description for the <br />Event Manager/Program Coordinator position. Resolution 9366 will give authorization to staff this <br />position. <br />Discussion: <br />Since creating the job description for the Event Manager/Program Coordinator, staff would like to <br />make a slight revision and change the title to Event Manager/Recreation Coordinator. The position <br />has been reviewed and set with the following pay range: <br />Step 1 <br />Step 1.5 <br />Step 2 <br />Step 3 <br />Step 4 <br />Step 5 <br />$24.04 <br />$24.70 <br />$25.54 <br />$27.05 <br />$28.55 <br />$30.05 <br />The Event Manager/Recreation Coordinator position has been offered to Leah Vandecar. Ms. <br />Vandecar has worked at the Mounds View Community Center for the past nine (9) and a half (1 /2) <br />years, and has agreed to a hire date of January 1, 2021. Staff recommends starting Ms. Vandecar <br />at Step 1.5. Ms. Vandecar would advance to Step 2 at her six (6) month anniversary after <br />completion of a successful probationary period on July 1, 2021. Ms. Vandecar would then <br />advance to Step 3 on July 1, 2022, Step 4 on July 1, 2023, and Step 5 on July 1, 2024. Additionally <br />staff recommends Ms. Vandecar begin accumulating vacation at the rate of 15 days per year.
