Reports of Staff <br />January 21, 2021 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br />I. Snyder’s Building <br />Tommy’s Car Wash purchased the old Snyder’s Pharmacy in 2020 and demolished the building. The project is <br />nearing completion. They are on track for spring 2021 opening. <br /> <br />J. Filipino Village <br />The old Snap Market is now the Filipino Village Grocery Store. They opened late October 2020. They have begun <br />work on expanding into the remainder of the building which is scheduled for an early spring completion. <br /> <br />K. New Vision Theater <br />They currently are looking for a new tenant. They were nearing an agreement with AMC owned by China but AMC <br />is struggling and has filed for bankruptcy. New Vision is applying for a State COVID grant to keep the facility afloat <br />during the pandemic. Caribou Coffee is looking to build a new site in the New Vision parking lot and the possibility <br />of a mixed-use or multi-family project is being researched as well. <br /> <br />L. Mermaid <br />The Mermaid has made an application to the State of MN for a COVID grant in order to help it maintain is bowling <br />alley and restaurant. They have stated that since Gov. Walz has recently allowed 50% capacity for restaurants that <br />they believe they can maintain. However, they continue to struggle until all mandates are lifted. <br /> <br />M. El Loro <br />There has been some interest in the old El Loro building however they City’s Ordinance does not allow drive-thru’s <br />at that location. Therefore, interest has waned. Staff met with the Development Review Committee to discuss that <br />matter and it was decided that the City should move forward in allowing a drive-thru for that location. This process <br />could take a couple of months to complete. <br /> <br />N. Nice-N-Fit <br />A health nutrition store is working on a lease agreement and remodel requirements for the old Cost Cutters retail <br />space in Mounds View Square. Until a lease agreement is signed, it is a proposed business. <br /> <br />O.
