RESOLUTION 9393 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVAL FOR A REPLACEMENT FURNACE AT THE HILLVIEW PARK <br />SHELTER BUILDING <br />WHEREAS, Hillview Park Shelter Building was constructed in 2002, the current <br />furnace is original and only minor repairs have been necessary; and <br />WHEREAS, In December of 2020 the furnace began to have issues preventing it <br />to operate correctly; Architect Mechanical performed repairs and got the unit functioning; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Staff was advised that the unit was beyond its useful life and will/may <br />continue to fail and quit working. (At this time the unit is not operating and building rentals <br />have been suspended, including the use as a warming house for the ice rinks.); and <br />WHEREAS, Public Works Staff obtained three proposals to replace the furnace at <br />Hillview Park Shelter the building. The following are the proposed cost: <br />Trane Building Services $ 10,578.00 <br />Architect Mechanical $ 9,900.00 <br />Home Depot $ 9,372.00 <br />WHEREAS, On January 28, 2021 Staff presented the proposal to the Parks, <br />Recreation and Forestry Commission to obtain direction; authorization was given not to <br />exceed $11,110.00 for the replacement. The Commission also requested that Staff <br />investigate having a wider HEPA filter to be installed in the unit. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />A budget adjustment in the 2021 budget will be required in the Park Dedication <br />Fund, fund account 451-4470-7050 of $10,395.00 for the installation of a new <br />furnace at the Hillview Park Shelter Building. <br />2. Approves the quote from Architect Mechanical Inc. of St. Anthony MN to <br />replace the furnace at the Hillview Park Shelter Building at a cost of $9,900.00 <br />to be funded from account 451-4470-7050, Park Dedication Fund. <br />3. Staff also recommends a 5% contingency of $495.00 for any unforeseen issues <br />that may arise. <br />4. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to execute all <br />appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this <br />resolution. <br />The -N-lounds Vkm Vision <br />
