RESOLUTION NO. 9394 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AUTHORIZE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW PARTICIPATION IN THE MINNESOTA <br />PUBLIC WORKS JOINT POWERS MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 471.59 authorizes governmental units <br />by agreement of their governing bodies to jointly or cooperatively exercise any power <br />common to them; and <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Public Works Joint Powers Mutual Aid Agreement is <br />to provide a formal process for units of government to assist other agencies within the <br />State of Minnesota, with public works personnel, equipment and resources as <br />requested; and <br />WHEREAS, the Agreement allows other governmental units to become a party to <br />the Agreement by action of their respective governing bodies and sending notice to <br />Hennepin County Emergency Management which has been designated to serve as the <br />administrative coordinator for the units of government entering into this Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Mounds View considers it to be in the <br />best interests of the City to be a party to the Agreement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />MOUNDS VIEW, MINNESOTA: <br />1. The Mayor and City Administrator are authorized and directed to sign this <br />resolution evidencing the intent of the City of Mounds View to be a party to the <br />Minnesota Public Works Joint Powers Mutual Aid Agreement. <br />2. The City Administrator is directed to send a certified copy of this resolution and <br />dated and signed signature page consistent with Mounds View method of <br />executing contracts. <br />3.
