Exhibit D <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />POSITION DESCRIPTION <br />Position Title: Senior Programs Coordinator <br />Department: Parks and Recreation <br />Accountable to: Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br />Status: Non -Exempt Part -Time <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITON <br />This position is responsible for programming for active older adults, adult health and wellness, <br />and special events. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general guidance and direction of the Parks and Recreation Superintendent. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />None. <br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br />• Assist in planning, scheduling, and implementing entertainment for senior programs. <br />• Oversee special events and activities for senior programs. <br />• Continuously evaluate programming and recommend needed changes to the Parks and <br />Recreation Superintendent. <br />• Ensure the site is kept clean and organized. <br />• Ensure excellent communication with participants. <br />• Provide information to and answer questions from participants and the general public. <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br />• High school diploma/GED. <br />• Minimum of 1-2 years working with senior recreation programming. <br />• Have the desire to work with the public. <br />o Be available to work a part-time schedule of up to 20 hours per week. <br />• First Aid certified or willing to become certified within 30 days of hire. <br />• Willing to work with people of diverse backgrounds. <br />• Ability to work flexible schedules including day and evening hours. <br />NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES <br />• The ability to work with and provide appropriate programming to an aging population. <br />• The ability to provide leadership and to motivate participants. <br />• Interpersonal skills sufficient to exchange and/or convey information, receive work direction, <br />and maintain effective working relationships with staff and class participants. <br />• Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. <br />• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. <br />TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED <br />Microsoft word and excel, registration software, and crafting materials. <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS <br />The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an <br />employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. <br />
