Technical Memorandum Re: Mounds View — Water Treatment Plant No. 1 Rehabilitation Project February 22, 2021 WELLHOUSE IMPROVEMENTS In addition to the work completed at WTP No. 1, portions of Wellhouse 1 and Wellhouse 2 will be rehabilitated. These wells provide raw water to WTP No. 1. Rehabilitation within these wellhouses includes the following: Wellhouse 1 Complete electrical replacement including upgrading Well No. 1 motor with a VFD for more efficient operation 2. Select valve and instrument replacement 3. Sound dampening of walls shared with police department Wellhouse 2 1. Electrical replacement limited to lighting and SCADA control equipment 2. Select valve and instrument replacement In addition to the improvements listed above, both facilities will also have security and door access hardware added to standardize equipment throughout all facilities. Included in the bidding documents is Alternate 1, which is for the addition of air conditioning units within the two wellhouses to ventilate and cool the space of excess heat coming from the well VFDs.
