Exhibit C <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />POSITION DESCRIPTION <br />Position Title: Park Program Lead <br />Department: Parks and Recreation <br />Accountable to: Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br />Status: Seasonal <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITON <br />This position is responsible for program planning, implementation, and evaluation of summer <br />parks program. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general guidance and direction of the Parks and Recreation Superintendent. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />None. <br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br />• Coordinate summer parks program. <br />• Plan, coordinate, and evaluate daily recreational activities. <br />• Assist in training and the evaluation of staff. <br />• Maintain open lines of communication with staff and participants. <br />• Act as a liaison between seasonal staff and Parks and Recreation staff. <br />• Assist in scheduling and assigning staff. <br />• Inventory and distribute equipment, supplies, and materials. <br />• Maintain accurate records and statistics. <br />• Coordinate summer staff meetings as required. <br />• Distribute timesheets and other pertinent correspondence to summer staff as needed. <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br />• High school diploma/GED. <br />• Two years' experience working in parks and recreation, summer camps, physical education, <br />education or community education. <br />• Two years word processing experience. <br />• Have the desire to work with the public. <br />o Be available to work a part-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week. <br />• First Aid certified or willing to become certified within 30 days of hire. <br />• Willing to work with people of diverse backgrounds. <br />• Ability to work flexible schedules including day and evening hours. <br />NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES <br />• Knowledge of organized games, activities for special events and pre-school programs. <br />• Ability to plan, implement and evaluation a wide variety of recreational activities for youth. <br />• Ability to motivate staff and participants. <br />• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and the <br />general public. <br />• Ability to communicate effective in English, both verbally and in writing. <br />• Ability to demonstrate strong organizational and leadership skills. <br />• Proficient in word processing. <br />
