M 0 U-- N-DIS VVI E W <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />Item No: 8.C. <br />Meeting Date: March 8, 2021 <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />Administrator Review <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resources Coordinator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9407 Approving A Memorandum of Understanding to <br />Remove the Community Center Custodian Position from the Public <br />Works Collective Bargain Unit Labor Agreement <br />Introduction: <br />On October 12, 2020, Council recommended approval of the City operating a Parks and <br />Recreation Department. In creating the Parks and Recreation Department, reorganization has <br />occurred for the position of Facilities Maintenance/Building Custodian, recognized as the <br />Community Center Custodian position in the Public Works Collective Bargain Unit Labor <br />Agreement. The current Community Center Custodian has been promoted to a Public <br />Maintenance Worker Streets position. This change will not affect current staff. <br />Discussion: <br />Staff met with the Public Works Representatives on February 25th and discussed removing the <br />Community Center Custodian position from the Public Works Collective Bargain Unit Labor <br />Agreement through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). After reviewing the MOU, the <br />Representatives returned with a signed MOU agreeing to have the position removed from the <br />Labor Agreement.
