Item No. 613 <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Don Peterson — Public Works Director <br />Date: June 25, 2020 <br />RE: Public Works Staff Report <br />The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. <br />Maintenance <br />Staff worked on the following items since November: <br />• Flower bed weed weeding <br />• Splash pad checks and testing <br />• City hall playground sun shades installed <br />• Tennis, batting cage, SV soccer and volleyball court net installations <br />• Playground repairs <br />• Basketball rim re -installation <br />• Silver View trail trimming and brush removal <br />• Ball field lines laid out and painted <br />• Ballfield leveling and home plate repairs <br />• Players bench repairs <br />• Bench installation and removal SV trail <br />• Irrigation repairs <br />• True green fertilizing broad leaf and grub treatment <br />• Weed spraying two full rounds — Ball fields, hockey rinks, warning tracks, and fence lines <br />• Oak wood park East fence line tree and brush removal <br />• Installed corona virus signs at all parks <br />• Greenfield trail improvements behind ball field <br />• Parking lot lines Greenfield <br />• SV building and concrete cleaning <br />• Weed whipping and mowing 137 acres <br />Forestry <br />Staff worked on the following items this last month: <br />• Transplanting two flowering crab trees from Quincy street project area to green field park <br />(survival rate is low) <br />• Resident consults <br />• New tree watering <br />• Hazard removals <br />• SV trail tree trimming <br />• Planter box weeding <br />• Stump grinding and restorations <br />• Stump site restorations <br />
