Item No. 713 <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Don Peterson — Public Works Director <br />Date: July 23, 2020 <br />RE: Public Works Staff Report <br />The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. <br />Maintenance <br />Staff worked on the following items since November: <br />• Flower bed weed weeding <br />• Splash pad checks and testing <br />• Playground repairs <br />• Silver View trail trimming and brush removal <br />• Ball field lines laid out and painted <br />• Ballfield leveling and home plate repairs <br />• Irrigation repairs <br />• True green fertilizing broad leaf and grub treatment <br />• Weed spraying two full rounds — Ball fields, hockey rinks, warning tracks, and fence lines <br />• Weed whipping and mowing 137 acres <br />Forestry <br />Staff worked on the following items this last month: <br />• Transplanting two flowering crab trees from Quincy street project area to green field park <br />(survival rate is low) <br />• Resident consults <br />• New tree watering <br />• Hazard removals <br />• SV and Oakwood trail tree trimming <br />The following is the List of Parks and projects / maintenance activities ongoing or planned this year. <br />Current updates are in black text, and updates from the previous two month period are in grey. <br />Ardan Park <br />• Working with Stantec Engineering on some drainage issues in the Park. Application to <br />perform some storm water pond maintenance was submitted to RCWD. <br />City Hall Campus: <br />• New Picnic Shelters are being built, will be ready for next season rental. <br />• Worked with plumber and vendor to winterize the splash pad. <br />• Installation of the New Picnic Tables started <br />1IPage <br />
