Item No. 6B <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Don Peterson — Public Works Director <br />Date: November 19, 2020 <br />RE: Public Works Staff Report <br />The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. <br />Maintenance <br />Staff worked on the following items since November: <br />• Flower bed weed weeding <br />• Splash pad checks and testing, winterizing, <br />• Green Field restroom enclosure redone <br />0 Green Field shelter re -roofed <br />Ballfield leveling and home plate repairs <br />Irrigation repairs <br />• Playground removal started city hall old playground <br />• Irrigation repairs <br />Irrigation winterization <br />• SV building winterization <br />® HVAC fall checks all heated park buildings <br />Weed whipping and mowing 137 acres <br />0 Leaf mulching / removal at all parks ongoing <br />Pulled tennis, volley and Soccer nets week of November 11th <br />• Portable bathrooms removed from all parks October 29th- 301h <br />Grass and field aeration <br />• SV fountain pulled and sent in for warranty work- Three new fountains have had failures <br />this summer due to recalled parts inside the pumps. <br />• East end of SV pond getting power added for future aerator and fountain- ongoing <br />Forestry <br />Staff worked on the following items this last month: <br />• Four Seasons consults and meets <br />8 Pre -Construction meetings and tree site plan recommendations <br />• Hazard removals silver view trail <br />• Fall bush trimming and young tree structural pruning <br />• City arborist collecting all right of entries for removals that will start 12-1-2020 <br />0 59 trees marked: <br />• 49- Oak <br />• 6-Ash <br />• 4- Hazard <br />11Page <br />
