8. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. Update - Opening of Splash Pad: Staff recommendation will be to NOT open the Splash <br />Pad this year. It would involve needing more staff for monitoring people coming and going, <br />wearing masks, and social distancing. Ramsey County is in charge of licensing to open. <br />B. Update - Opening of Parks, Summer Programs, Sport Leagues and Renting of Park Shelter <br />Buildings: Park shelter rentals are available as long as renters follow the recommended <br />guidelines. The city attorney is drafting language into documents for building and Event <br />Center rentals that states renters and attendees cannot sue the City if they contract COVID- <br />19 at such an event. Youth sports leagues were moved to Shoreview YMCA because they <br />have full-time staff. Andy is the only current full-time staff at MVCC. Others were furloughed <br />in April and have not returned yet. Some seasonal staff are working with the Summer <br />Program. Playgrounds are open with signage for COVID-19 guidelines. Some field rentals <br />are happening. Festival -in -the -Park is cancelled for this year. <br />9. COMMISSIONER REPORTS: NONE <br />10. REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS / OTHER BUSINESS <br />A.
