RESOLUTION 9421 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A JOHN DEERE 5090M UTILITY TRACTOR WITH <br />IMPLEMENTS <br />WHEREAS, the City has utility vehicles that are utilized for the Public Works Department <br />to perform necessary maintenance, and; <br />WHEREAS, the City Council understands the need for Public Works to properly operate <br />various tasks such as snow removal operations, mowing of grounds and around storm water <br />ponds; and <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Staff has been using a 2014 AEBI Tectrac, unit #316 and <br />yearly average repair are costing $2,264.00. In the fall of 2020 the fuel pump failed, and will need <br />to be repaired. The cost for these repairs range from $17,000.00 to $30,000.00; and <br />WHEREAS, Public Works Staff met with the City Administrator and Finance Director and <br />recommended this unit would not be repaired and that the replacement year be moved up from <br />2028 to the present; and <br />WHEREAS, Public Works Staff has received quote from the State of Minnesota <br />Cooperative Purchasing Venture, Frontier Ag & Turf of Columbus MN., for a John Deere 5090M <br />Utility Tractor, including a new snow blower, broom and flail mower as follows: <br />John Deere 5090M Utility Tractor - <br />$82,042.00 <br />Normand N86-280H Snow Blower - <br />$9,810.00 <br />M-B USA 72" Broom - <br />$6,825.00 <br />Diamond Rear Swing Flail Mower - <br />$16,615.00 <br />Total <br />$115,292.00 <br />WHEREAS, the replacement of this equipment is in the 2021 Budget to be taken from the <br />Vehicle and Equipment fund Park Department 460-4360-7040, with budgeted amount of <br />$100.000.00. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br />Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. The Purchase of a John Deere 5090M Utility Tractor from Frontier Ag & Turf of <br />Columbus, MN not including sales tax or license fees for - $83,076.60, also the <br />purchase of a Mormand N86-280H Snow Blower - $9,510.00 M-B USA 72" Broom- <br />$6,514.20.
