MOUN—DS VMW <br />City or Mounds View Staff Report <br />Item No: 8.G. <br />Meeting Date: April 12, 2021 <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />Administrator Review <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resources Coordinator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9418 Authorizing the End of the Extension of Sick Leave <br />Balances for COVID-19 Related Absences Effective 11:59 P.M., April <br />30, 2021 <br />Introduction: <br />During the January 11, 2021 Council Meeting, Council authorized Public Works Bargaining Unit <br />employees and First Responders who tested positive, or those exposed to the COVID-19 virus, <br />to receive paid sick time if approved by the City Administrator. <br />Discussion: <br />Staff has discussed the influx of vaccine made available to first responders and the public and is <br />recommending Council eliminate Resolution 9376 effective 11:59 P.M., April 30, 2021. If <br />employees need to take time off due to COVID-19 related absences, as of May 1, 2021, they will <br />need to use their sick leave balances (or other accumulated time).
